Photos by Delaney Cronk The Tigers got on the board first ten minutes in when Carli Fryling fired a shot into the Viking goal but the speedy TC squad responded with a goal of their own. From there the Tigers held off an aggressive attack by the visitors and the teams reached intermission knotted at one apiece. The second half saw the Vikings controlling possession as they had much of the first half and on one of their breakthrough runs up the middle they found paydirt again to edge ahead 2-1. The Tigers came back jumping on an opportunity when Lola Cronk sent a missile across the front of the goal where Lilli Kreps buried the ball into the TC net and the teams were tied again. With 9 minutes left to play the relentless Viking pressure finally got through a spirited Tiger defense and took the lead. The hosts had a couple more shots at the Viking goal before time ran out but the score held up and TC earned the victory to stay undefeated in conference play. Coach Gomez de Leon: “It was a tough loss. We lacked control and communication and once we let go of that discipline we let go of our chances at success. We hope to get back at it and prep for our next match on Wednesday. But again, it is apparent that we, as a team, need to solidify our game.” Grant (2-3, 1-2) will make the 5 mile trip up M37 to face Newaygo on Wednesday.
