Grant 6 Tri County 1
The Tigers fired up the offense in the second inning scoring their first run then pulled a away with three runs in the third. Elliott Butchart drew a bases loaded walk to score a run setting the plate for a two out, two run single off the bat of Jed Vander Weide. "That was a big at bat for Jed,” said Coach Rider. “ Earlier that inning we had bases loaded with no outs and until that point had only scored one run. He battled and came up with a clutch two out hit for us." Trent Mead pitched Grant to victory going seven innings and allowing one run on four hits while striking out seven. The Tigers racked up nine hits in the game led by Vander Weide and Kyle Bay. Casey Deater led the team on the basepaths with three of the 9 Tiger thefts in the game "This was our best total game we have played this season,” added Coach Rider. “The wins are not really racking up but we are seeing progress. We are starting one senior and one junior and if this group can keep pushing forward and get stronger with the mental part of the game they will be a really fun group to watch in a couple years."
