Packer Girls Top Visiting Grant; Tiger Boys Claw Panthers

The Packers edged out to a 1 point lead after one and held a 22-17 lead halfway through the 2nd, but the Tiger defense forced the hosts into a series of turnovers and by intermission Grant had moved into a 28-24 lead.Coming out of the locker room theTigers built a 9 point advantage but the Packers regrouped and pulled within a point headed into the final frame. The 4th turned into a dogfight as the teams battled down the stretch with Fremont outshooting Grant in the final minuted=s to capture the win.
Coach Zerfas: “We were able to beat a very good and well coached Grant team with grit, determination and a total team effort.  It might not always show up on the stat sheet, but every girl that played tonight did her job and that is why we were able to win.”
Coach Delamater: “We had a decent first half but succumbed to tired legs in the second. We haven't played since December 22 and it felt like game one all over again.
It was fun seeing Pete on the sidelines and coaching against him again. He brings instant credibility to their program and the girls have definitely responded.
Mia Clemence stuffed the stat sheet finishing with 18 points, grabbing a team high 10 off the glass and collecting 5 steals. Taylor DeKuiper and Riley Chase knocked down a half dozen points apiece and Khaila Noordyk and Eliana VandenBerg added 4 each
 Julie Ashbaugh and Alexa Obenauf each canned 10 points with Jocee Pleune  hitting for 9. 
Fremont (7-2, 4-0) were to host Ravenna (3-5, 1-3) Thursday while Grant (4-3, 3-0) will visit Tri County (1-4, 1-7) Friday.

Grant 82 Baldwin 57
The Tigers blasted the visiting Panthers taking a 9 point lead after one and hitting halftime up 11. The second half was more of the same with Baldwin unable to keep pace with a hot scoring Tiger squad.
Zaiden Phillips led the scoring parade with 22 while Oakley Obenauf and Sincere Hatch dropped a dozen apiece. Zander Powell hit for 9 points and Kyle Cook added 8.
Grant (6-3, 3-1) will return to conference play with a visit to Tri County (1-8, 0-4).
