Photos by Tara Hefferan Fremont 0 Newaygo 0 The Lion defense continued to be a dominant force on the field in their match against the Packers Monday but despite winning the possession game they were thwarted in their efforts to punch one past the Fremont goalkeep. The tie put the Newaygo record at 7-0-1 on the season with a 3-0-1 conference mark. The Packer defense got a boost from holding one of the top teams in the conference scoreless and Fremont now sits at 2-7-1 overall with a 2-2-1 record in league play. The Lions face a big test in Big Rapids (5-3, 3-0) Wednesday when they travel north to face a Cardinal squad that has tallied 22 goals in the last 3 matches while shutting down the opposition. Fremont will host Lakeview (2-5, 4-0)
