White Cloud came out of the locker room and found their scoring touch going up 24-14 entering the 4th and holding back MCC for the win. Coach Wilk: “ Gracy Holmes and Annie Feldpausch led us with 9 points apiece. Brooke Ringler added 7 points, and she was all over the floor today. Overall our defense was sloppy, and our execution poor. If we want to win tomorrow we will need to play a much better game.” Holton 57 Big Rpids Crossroads Academy 36 The Cougars came into the tourney boasting a 4-0 record and the top spot in the West Michigan D League, but the Devils recent surge continued as they captured the win. Coach Jordan: “We were able to overcome a slow start and begin to pull away in the 2nd, credit to crossroads they absolutely outplayed us in the first quarter and really caught us off guard. "We went into halftime with a 29-19 lead, after giving up a late 3 in the half. The second half we were able to continue to grow our lead and we picked up our energy a little, not sure why it was off, maybe the noon start, but we were flat coming out … which is something we can’t afford to do. “Ryann Robins was a force down low and really was a steady force for us all game finishing with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Lexi Bart had another huge night for us hitting 3 3’s and finishing with 16 points and Abbie Fowler overcame an injury in the first half and finished with 8 assists. Aubrey Goyings also logged in a complete game and had 13 rebounds and 6 steals. “This win gets us to 4-1 on the season and we play White Cloud tomorrow in the championship and I expect them to come with great effort so we need to have a better start than we did today.” Boys
