Big Rapids 54 White Cloud 9 Ouch! The Cardinals came into this one undefeated and early on it was apparent why. Behind a smothering pressure defense and some lethal shooting skills the Cardinals held home court blasting their way to a 27-3 halftime lead and coasting to the conference win. Coach Wilk: “Our last game before break was postponed, and I was worried that having three weeks without a game could cause us to come out a little rusty against a talented Big Rapids team. To say we came out a little rusty is an understatement. We struggled to find the basket, and quite frankly we didn’t match the physicality of Big Rapids. I was happy to see that even when we were too far behind to catch back up our players were still cheering each other on. This group of young ladies get along really well, and their personalities/team chemistry makes it very enjoyable to coach them. Luckily, we have a quick turnaround. We play Monday and we have a group of young ladies that want to get this loss behind them.” Jaden Gomez led the Cloud with 5 points.
