“MCC is getting a great player”
Newaygo County Schools have provided a bit of a pipeline to the Muskegon Community College Women’s basketball team in recent years. Calla Miler and Hayley Zerlaut of Fremont along with Emmerson Goodinn and Kayla Fisk of Newaygo all spent time on the Jayhawk hardcourt this past season. The latest player destined to don the MCC colors is Gaby Reeve of White Cloud who put her signature to a letter of intent on Thursday. WC Basketball Head Coach Wilk provided us with a few words about the talented Ms. Reeve who was an integral part of the Indians success this past season “Gaby Reeve spends more time in the gym working on her craft than most kids who play high school basketball. During weekends and the offseason if I went into the school there was a very high chance that Gaby would be shooting 1,000 shots or working on her post moves. She attended every workout in the summer, and she has been a great example for our younger players. Not only does she work hard on the court, but she also works hard in the classroom. Gaby is the valedictorian for the class of 2023. “Today Gaby signed to play for Muskegon Community College. MCC is getting a great player. Gaby will be successful at the next level because she will continue to work hard. It has been an absolute joy to coach a player with her determination to be successful. We are very proud to have Gaby represent our school this upcoming season as she puts on her new Jayhawk uniform. “Go Jayhawk"
