Final CSAA Gold Conference Jamboree
It was a cold, rainy fall day at Chippewa Hills High School for the final jamboree of the season. The leaves have started to turn colors, making the course through the woods enjoyable despite the unfavorable weather. In order to earn All-Conference honors, an athlete must earn a spot in the top seven. Honorable Mention honors go to places 8-14. The team championship goes to the team who earns the fewest points over the course of all three conference meets throughout the season. The girls needed to win the race and have Reed City place 3rd to be able to share the Conference Championship with RC. The girls stepped up to pull off the victory, scoring 55 points, with many having their best conference finishes of the season. We were really proud of the girls to produce a win at our final conference meet. Reed City finished 2nd to take the Conf. Championship outright. The boys won the meet with another perfect score of 15 points to win the conference championship. Nathan Walker (Jr) set a new course record of 15:18.5 breaking Ben Schmidt’s record of 15:47.8.
