The Fremont boys' soccer team traveled to Big Rapids on Thursday evening to take on Alma in the Regional Final match.
Alma got off to a quick start scoring 10 minutes into the match. Brayden Truman finished a ball from the top of the 18 making it 1-0. The rest of the half was back and forth and the scored remained 1-0 in favor of Alma at the half. Alma struck again in the second half just 12 minutes in. Leo Richter scored the goal. Fremont battled back when John Vissia found Chaz Miller with 16 minutes left in the match making the score 2-1. Although Fremont had several chances down the stretch they simply were not able to knot the game up. Alma outshot Fremont 10-5. Fremont's goalkeeper Caleb Vissia ended with 8 saves while Alma's keeper Noah Vega ended with 4 saves. Alma improves to 20-4 overall while Fremont ends its season 21-2-1.
