Photos by Cassie Rickert White Cloud 66 Holton 12 Landyn McGowen piled up a total of 215 yards and notched 5 touchdowns as the Cloud sent the homecoming crowd home happy with a dominant win over the Red Devils. Lloyd Sebright-Johnson and Nate Campeau each scored two TDs and Jayden Robinson added another to the offensive surge. Compeau also picked a Devil pass on defense Ashton Graham led the D with 12 tackles and an interception white Reece Johnson tallied 9 tackles. For the RD’s Riley Pierce hit Hunter Zang for a touchdown and took another in on the ground to account for the Holton scores. Pierce finished with 58 yards passing and 81 rushing. Zang caught 3 passes for 58 yards and David Addison pounded out 48 rushing yards. White Cloud (0-1, 3-2) is scheduled to play at Muskegon Heights (0-3) Friday. Oakridge 26 Fremont 14 The Eagles jumped off to an early lead scoring on a 2 yard run midway through the 1st. The Packers responded on their next drive when Talen Reichert-Slater hit Daniel Romero who took it in for a 26 yard TD. Ben Mellema converted and Oakridge held an 8-7 edge. The visitors showed a little razzle dazzle as QB Evan Miller flipped the ball to Trever Jones who found Brayden Cunningham streaking downfield for a 76 yard score. The conversion failed and the teams went to the locker rooms tied after Khai Noordyk ran it in from 24 yards out followed by a Mellema boot to make it 14-14. Fremont missed an early scoring opportunity in the 3rd and the Eagles took command with a short TD pass going up 20-14. Another Packer scoring chance ended with a turnover and Eagle running back Jones busted a 60 yarder for the final score of the game. Reichert-Slater completed 13 of his 28 passes for 150 yards hitting Romero 5 times for 65 yards while Kyler DeKuiper hauled in 4 for 25 yards. DeKuiper also recovered a fumble on defense. Khai Noordyk piled up 68 yards on the ground with Owen Hertel adding another 53 yards. Hertel also had a team leading 8 tackles on defense with Connor Pettis notching 7. Fremont (0-2, 2-3) will host Orchard View (0-2, 2-3) Friday. Shelby 21 Hesperia 7 Anything that could go wrong for the Panthers did so during the first half of their visit to Shelby. The Tigers took advantage of turnovers and struck twice with scoring passes to hit intermission up 13-0. Skyler Stalbaum capped the initial Panther drive in the second half with a 20 yard run to daylight and the conversion put the visitors back in the game down just 13-7. But that was all the points the Panthers could muster while the Tigers visited the endzone twice more to ice the WMC-R game. Hesperia (0-2, 1-4) will host Ravenna (2-1. 2-3) Friday. Tri County 44 Morley Stanwood 6 The Vikings remained undefeated with a convincing win over the ‘Hawks. Tri County (3-0, 5-0) will host Central Montcalm (1-2, 2-3) Friday.
