Holton Girls win 6th straight, Cloud Boys make it 5 in a row Girls Holton 35 White Cloud 16 These two teams met recently in the Holton Holiday Tourney, a game that saw the Devils run away early. The same result tonight but the White Cloud defense held the Holton team quite a bit closer than the first time around. Coach Jordan: “A game with a ton of missed shots. Credit to White cloud as I felt they played harder and more intense than us for most of the game. Lucky for us they couldn't hit shots either tonight. We just weren’t ourselves tonight, but there are always games like this so to be able to grind it out and stretch the lead a little every quarter is a good thing. During this win streak (now 6) we were averaging 54 points a game, so it’s nice to see us win a game where we struggled on the offensive end. We got to clean it up fast as we have a tough game tomorrow night at North Muskegon. Coach Wilk: “After winning a close game Friday, I was hoping to keep the ball rolling. We came out with our best defensive effort tonight, but we struggled offensively. We did a great job executing our offense, but we missed way too many good opportunities. If we made our open shots tonight we had a great chance to be in this one at the end. I was pleased with our intensity tonight. We are finally starting to be healthy, and I am glad Brooklyn Foondle is back for us because she adds a little spark offensively for us. Ryann Robins was huge in the paint pulling 17 off the glass while hitting for a game high 13 points. Abby Fowler dished out 6 dimes and added 6 points and Aubrey Goings pulled down 11 boards. Annie Feldpausch led WC with 6 points. Holton (7-1, 2-1) takes on N Muskegon Tuesday and White Cloud (4-6, 1-2) travels to Grant Friday. Boys
White Cloud 76 Holton 38 The Cloud extended their winning streak to 5 with another explosive offensive output. The tem is averaging over 70 points the last 4 games. Coach Jones: Proud of them, we've played our brand of basketball the last couple of weeks and it's showed. Noah Robinson had a game high 20 points, while KJ Strait hit for 18, Coleson Cruzan scored 12, and Jayden Robinson added 11. Jayson Ruether, Caleb Canning and Jacob Zimmer each finished with 5. White Cloud (8-2, 2-1) travels to Grant Friday. Holton (1-11 0-4) will host Crossroads Academy Tuesday.
