In a District Final that closely resembled the first time these teams met a couple of weeks ago, the Norse were able to shake off a determined White Cloud squad to secure the win and move on to the Regionals.
Coach Jones: ““We played them tough again going into the 4th but they are a damn good basketball team. We were tied at 33 but couldn’t hit down the stretch to keep pace with them.”
NM outscored the Cloud 21-9 in the final frame.
The loss ends a strong season for White Cloud that saw the team compete for a conference title right up until the end of the regular season.
“It was a great run this year,” added Coach Jones. “So very proud of this group of young men. 17-7 and 11 wins in a row? I’d take that every year.”
Noah Robinson led the Cloud with 12 points while KJ Strait hit for 11 and Jayden Robinson added 9.
North Muskegon, still undefeated, will head to Pewamo Westphalia to take on the P-W Pirates Tuesday.
