White Cloud 40 Hesperia 9 The visiting Cloud team took care of business as they grabbed an early lead then shut down the Panthers holding them to just 2 second half points. Coach Wilk: “We played much faster and more aggressive after intermission, and that was what we were looking for. It was nice to get everyone substantial playing time, and almost everyone scored for us tonight. This game gets us back on track, and we hope to use the second half of tonight’s game as a springboard going into our conference matchup with Chippewa Hills on Friday. We are around the halfway point, and it feels like we continue to build in every game that we play. Annie Feldpausch and Jaden Gomez led the scoring parade knocking down 9 points apiece followed by Gracy Holmes who scored y and Payten Bird who hit for 5. White Cloud (5-6, 1-3) will host the Warriors (1-6, 0-3) Friday. Holton 30 Whitehall 27 It didn’t come easy but the Red Devils survived a trip to Viking country coming home with a close win on a night when they struggled a bit on the court. Coach Jordan: “Monday games are typically a little sloppy and tonight did not disappoint. We just struggled all night on really everything. Hit one outside shot all night, shot terrible from the free throw line, turned the ball over 20 times, didn't rebound for anything and had trouble catching the ball. We are honestly lucky to get out of Whitehall with a win. The one bright spot was we were able to hold them to 1 field goal and 3 points in the 4th quarter and got a few big stops towards the end of the game.. “We need to get our team intensity back to wear it needs to be and fast. Every game from here on out is gonna be a game where if we don't show up we won't win.. We are 8-2 on the season but I still feel we are not clicking on either end of the floor like we are capable of. But happy the girls were able to grind out a defensive struggle like tonight as there will be more down the road just like this.” Ryann Robins pulled down 10 boards to go with her 9 points while Aubrey Goings led the Devils in scoring as she hit for 13 points and collected 9 off the glass. Abbie Fowler dished out a quintet of dimes while snatching 4 steals. Holton (8-2, 2-2) returns to division play next week Tuesday when they travel to Ravenna (1-3, 3-5).
