I lied to everyone. Back in June, I wrote a column about how I was going to spend less time on social media and I made all these rules that I promised to follow…blah blah blah. Well, it didn’t last and I’m coming clean. I promised to spend at least one day a week social media free and even though I was able to do it a few times, it was primarily due to my being at a cabin in the middle of nowhere without any wifi. I also promised to not have phones at the dinner table and... ![]() LionHeart Players Visit Library, Spanky’s 'Lion Witch and the Wardrobe' opens this weekend By Megan Wirts Photos by Charlie Johnson On March 4th Fremont Area District Library, Newaygo Area District Library and Spanky’s Pizza & Restaurant hosted meet and greets with LionHeart Productions’ cast of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to promote their upcoming performances at the Dogwood Center for Performing Arts and Grant Fine Arts Center. We’re talking, of course, about that long held tradition of meatless munching known as the Friday Fish Fry’s. Twenty years ago when N3 World Headquarters was located in the city to the south (Grand Rapids, not Casnovia) it was difficult to fall down without hitting a fish fry emporium during the pre-Easter season. There were... ![]() Lunasa performs at the Dogwood Center on March 19 Traditional Irish music group Lunasa will perform at the Dogwood Center on Sunday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. Internationally acknowledged as being the finest traditional Irish instrumental outfit of recent times, Lunasa is renowned for their stunning shows honed by superb musicianship and a constant touring cycle. By Megan Wirts Have you ever tried to think of a word for something, but you can’t think of it so you call it something else that’s kind of ridiculous? For example, I often times can’t think of the word fork, so I call it a “food pokey thingy” and a spoon is a “mouth shovel”. I know that this can be a normal thing (Dr. Google told me it’s sometimes called Word Finding Difficulty and sometimes it just means you’re getting old, which I am 100% in denial about.) and it’s not something to be alarmed about it most of the time. However, after having two brain surgeries... |
