Ok we know everyone is gearing up for the first of the Really Big Weekends of our warm weather season. Yes, I’m talking about the Big M. Memorial weekend, the signal gun that announces the beginning of summer. Well, this is the weekend to practice up. It’s supposed to be great weather-wise so get thee outdoors and revel in it. Do a little outdoor cookery, break out the lawn games, rev up the engine on the boat, just get at it because time’s a’wastin’
We’re just a week away and from what I’ve seen we’re not even close to being ready to rock the summer.

Friday
TGIF, right? Well then, kick off the weekend by visiting one of the many eatatoriums that populate our area. N3 has plans to begin a series of restaurant reviews to give residents and visitors a peek into the culinary options available nearby as well as those that might entail a short drive. What we’d like is a few suggestions from our ever-growing population of N3 readers who, according to extensive research, not only seem to be the brightest, best looking and screamingly like-able folks to be found anywhere, but many also are gifted with a remarkably discriminating palate.

So get out there and do some dedicated dining and then shoot us an email with a suggested venue you feel deserves a visit.

Saturday
In need of a few laughs? A chortling chuckle or two? Perhaps even a few guffaws? Jimmy’s Roadhouse is bringing in Dobie Maxwell for an 8pm show. Maxwell has been performing stand-up comedy for a few decades now and also serves as a mentor and instructor for others who aspire to bring their humor to the stage.

We at N3 World Headquarters are dedicated comedic aficionados. Our own Megan Wirts (Megan Again) is a fledgling stand-up artist who has wowed the crowds when she hits the Grand Rapids open-mike comedy scene.

This is Jimmy’s final comedy show of the season so head over to share a few laughs, partake in the beverage of your choice and grab some of the much admired Roadhouse grub.

​​Sunday 
It looks to be a great day for a drive so meander over to Croton and catch the Guinness Brothers a band that has been delivering some horn-driven classic rock and roll, blues and soul to grateful audiences for over 2 decades. They’ll be on the deck from 3-7pm so you can listen to some tunes, enjoy the Driftwood’s fine food and take in one of the premium views of The Pond to be had.

​ This venture will also give you a view of the work being done on the causeway and the creative measures (traffic light, one lane route) our Road Commission has undertaken to avoid the gazillion mile detour closing it completely would involve. Just something to think about this if you find yourself in a bit of a snit over waiting for the light to change.
