![]() The Suggestion Box- Weekend Happenings in the Near North By N3 Entertainment Team This Is It! Yes indeed, the extended weekend that celebrates summer like no other cluster of days can hope to compare with has arrived And with its arrival comes the influx of visitors, from regulars and semi-regulars to newcomers and those that wandered in by chance who will all join the residents of our fine area in an activity-laden toast to the wonder of Michigan’s grand entrance into its treasured seventh month. There is an absolute boatload of fun to be had in our fair climes in the near future and... ...while we at N3 World Headquarters and Hornet Haven are offering up but a few, but they are certainly a favored few.
(Saturday Continued...) - Oh, and from prior experience a quick call to secure reservations might be in order so check out the ad on our home page for details. As an added attraction local minstrel Don Benson will be providing a musical accompaniment to the feast that awaits Saturday’s guests. Fireworks Saturday July 2nd, Croton. Parade starts at noon and being it’s an election year look for a few politicians walking the route looking to press a little flesh and garnish some votes. Fireworks will be shot from the island again and will commence at dusk since dusk is when dark starts and all. Sunday July 3rd, Fremont. The fireworks will be going off over Fremont Lake commencing at, yep, dusk so set your timers for a quarter to dusk and slide out for some over-the-lake explosions of light and color. Sunday July 3rd, Hess Lake. I’m not well acquainted with the activities on our other lakes since my holidays are generally spent on the one that houses N3 world headquarters but at dusk (again) there is a ring of fire with flares surrounding the lake and occasional boats with loud speakers cruising by playing the associated Johnny Cash tune. No official fireworks but always a banner performance by lakeside residents. And whoever is responsible for the Brooks Lake performance absolutely nails the concept of a grand finale. Monday July 4th, Hesperia. Yes the only official area display on Independence Day itself will be in our northwestern hub where the light show begins at, you guessed it, dusk. So three separate chances to compare and contrast firework performances, some bountiful weather coming in our direction and ample opportunities to enjoy the food fun, and festivities our area will be serving up. Rock on Near Northians. This is your time. Got a suggestion for an upcoming happening in our area? Give us a shout out via email or fb and we’ll check it out.-info@nearnorthnow.com
