The Suggestion Box-Events In Our Parts By N3 Entertainment Team We’re expanding a bit beyond the weekend for this version of The Suggestion Box. The denizens of N3 World Headquarters and Early Spring Channeling Consortium have always held the upcoming Tuesday in high regard since a long ago trip to New Orleans that produced a great deal of fun as well as some unfortunate incidents that are no longer spoken of in polite company. Yes it is Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Carnival, the day of celebration before Ash Wednesday brings the onset of the Lenten season. Two things have come to our attention about Tuesday. If ... ,,,you’re looking for a little taste of New Orleans check out the Seafood Gumbo Chef Tracy of Hit The Road Joe will be dishing up at the drive-through window. Tracy’s special meals taking place inside of the eclectic Croton area setting that is HTRJ have been chronicled by us before and, as they do with rib dinners in the summer, this is strictly a takeout meal featuring a bowl of this delightful Cajun treat served up with long grain rice and a slab of cornbread for a mere ten dollar bill. They’ll be dishing it up from 5-7pm or until the last of the eats make their way out the window so do not tarry if it is Gumbo ye seek. Newaygo Brewing Co. will be doing a little celebrating of Fat Tuesday at their home digs in downtown Newaygo. NBC has become a premier gathering spot for locals as well as those traveling through with an ever-evolving selection of brews and some great eats featuring pizza that will bring you back to their doors time and again. If you don’t have a ticket for the 12th annual Winter Beer Fest at Fifth Third Park for Saturday you’re not going. They’ve long been sold out. Tickets remain for tonight (Friday) beginning at 5 and Newaygo Brewing Co. will be there serving up four of the brews destined to reach stores this spring in bottle form. If you get a chance come down and show a little love for your local brewery. Friday you can get in a little late season hoops action as teams get ready for the upcoming tournament. The age old rivalry between Newaygo and Grant gets another chapter written when the Lions travel 5 miles south to face their Tiger opponents. The girls game begins at 6 pm with the boys game to follow. On Monday the tourney action begins for the girls teams at Tri County High School over in the Howard City area. Grant and Fremont will be seeing who will advance in a game beginning at 7pm. Like a little rock and roll with your weekend? Riverstop Saloon has local favorites Azz Izz scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Movies? Well Fremont Cinemas are running ‘Monster Trucks’ and ‘Lego Batman’ the as well as ‘50 Shades Darker’. Major Hint: While the first two are suitable for children…….. There it is folks. A little weekend fun and some Fat Tuesday food and frivolity on tap. So get out there and take hold of some good times. Remember, Lent is looming. Comments are closed.
