By N3WH Entertainment Squad Cruising into Mid August folks. As always there are a lot of doings in our parts. Fair Week winds up Friday with Truck and Tractor pulls starting at 7pm an event that never fails to thrill. Of course the end of the annual agricultural extravaganza’s week-long run means the 4-Hers will begin spending time prepping for next year’s event now and tuck away memories of this year’s version of Fair Week. But never fear. The weekend promises some fun stuff both near and far and we at N3 World Headquarters are on hand to highlight a trio of tantalizing offerings for those seeking some good times...READ MORE ...Rick Reuther will be arriving at the Dogwood Center’s Black Box Saturday at 7:30pm to deliver top level entertainment in the form of his Tribute to Tony Bennett. Reuther possesses the kind of pipes that make for easy listening and he is a master at capturing the spirit of the cover tunes he rolls out while adding his personal musical touch to each.
Besides,it’s Tony Bennett tunes, right? This is a great date night concert and grabbing a bite at one of our local establishments before the show would make it an outstanding date night. Check out our Nibbler section and book a table for two. For those who prefer their tribute to the stars in an outdoor setting the S.F. Wessling Observatory will be holding a special event on Saturday from 9-Midnight at their cool place on baseline Rd north of Fremont. Those of us who enjoy scanning the skies from time to time know about the Perseid Meteor Shower and its annual visit during these August nights when an open and darkened sky can reveal an explosion of meteor sightings with the naked (or perhaps even partially clothed) eyes. The moon is in waning mode but still a bit close to it’s full stage so it likely won’t have the rapid-fire shooting star scene it might during a new moon but the show should be somewhat spectacular particularly if you bring one who has never witnessed the comet inspired showing. A good night to allow the youngsters to stay up late and totally justifiable given the educational nature of the event. The Sparta Celtic Festival starts Friday night but this bay kicks it into gear Saturday when the gates open at 10:30am for a day long celebration of all things Celtic. Being veterans of the wonderful Muskegon Irish Music Fest and particular to the musical genre N3WH staff attended this event last year and vowed to return due to enjoying the action on the stage and having a really good time. A great variety of Irish and Scottish music, dance, dance instruction, some language demos and even some magic taking place on three separate stages is on the agenda. Oh, and a beer tent. And whiskey tasting. After all what’s a little Celtic music without a little sip or two Comments are closed.
