 NEWAYGO COUNTY, MI – TrueNorth’s annual middle and high school Student Art Scholarship Contest and Expo is the premier event for local students to showcase their talents, and even win monetary scholarships to further their artistic education. This year’s show was adjudicated by Susan Wink, the Assistant Director of the Art Center of White Lake – Nuveen Center. She awarded ribbons in the following categories - Middle School, and High School Recognition for individual pieces of art; Senior Recognition for individual pieces of art by twelfth graders; and Scholarship Awards for portfolios by both Middle School and High School students. Scholarship winners receive a cash award, which may be used to attend art classes or camps, or purchase art supplies. Director’s Choice ribbons were given out by TrueNorth CEO, Bev Cassidy for individual pieces by students of any grade level. One of the Director’s Choice winners will have the option of selling their piece to TrueNorth which will become part of their permanent display of past winners’ artwork.  2023 A.R.T.S.
