![]() Vaudeville Academy at Dogwood April 5-7 Time for some fun during Spring Break! On April 5 through 7, the Dogwood Center's Vaudeville Academy for ages 8-16, participants will learn some new skills from local performer Mat Emerick and have the opportunity to show them off in a skit or two at the Vaudeville show on Saturday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Dogwood! From the early 1880’s to the end of the 1920’s, Vaudeville was the most popular form of live entertainment in the United States. Vaudeville offered a variety of acts with something for everyone! Students of this class will learn some new skills and have the option to... ...be a part of a “slapstick” (physical) comedy act and a juggling and acrobatics act in the annual Vaudeville show at the Dogwood. Local performer, Mat Emerick, will teach the skills needed for the performance.
Pre-registration is required and students must participate in all three classes. The class fee is $20. Class size limit is 20 students and is from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, April 5 - 7. Dogwood Box Office hours are Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and two hours prior to an event. For more information please contact Dogwood Box Office at 231.924.8885.
