Letter To The Editor: COA Thanks Voters Dear Newaygo County Voters, The Newaygo County Commission on Aging extends sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the voters of Newaygo County for their support of the 2017 – 2026 millage renewal and expansion. We are now better equipped to... ... respond to the needs of “The Silver Tsunami!”
“The Silver Tsunami” is the baby boomers, also known as Boomers, who were born between 1946 and 1964. There are 10,000 Boomers retiring every day across America. Currently about 25% of the Newaygo County population is 60 and over and by 2030 it is predicted that 30% of the county will be 60 and over. These people will predominately be Boomers. Our goal at the Newaygo County Commission on Aging is to meet the evident service needs for Seniors and Boomers as we move into the future. We desire to keep people in their own homes as long as possible. Thank you for your overwhelming support. We look forward to serving you during the next ten years and beyond. Joseph D Fox, Newaygo County Commission On Aging Director Comments are closed.
