...June 21st from 9am-12pm at the Dogwood Center for the Performing Arts.


Tall Cop Says Stop is designed for parents, grandparents, school educators, counselors, human service workers, law enforcement, and probation officers. Participants will learn about indicators of youth drug and alcohol abuse, current youth drug culture, concealment of alcohol and drugs on school property, and current drug culture clothing. Officer Jermaine Galloway is an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging speaker and is sure to energize participants.

“One thing holds true! All of us are dealing with underage drinking and drug usage in our community. Now what are we going to do about it? Are we going to meet and "round table" the issues every month? Or are we going to get out there, educate ourselves and do something about it?

  If there is a logo, identifier, term, picture, song, or clothing item, possible stash compartment, new drug product, right in front of you and you don't even realize its relevance in the drug or alcohol culture, how can you prevent, reduce or stop it?”

“One of the goals of Headway is to increase the knowledge of alcohol and drugs among community members, so we are very excited to provide this training for the community,” says Kaleigh Haase, Coalition Coordinator. Rachel Uganski, Drug Free Communities Project Coordinator adds, “We want to give the community the tools to help us prevent alcohol and drug use among our youth. The coalition will be much more successful in its efforts if we have the support from the community.”
