Stimulus payments to come within 3 weeks says Treasury Secretary Mnuchin
The Senate has unanimously passed a stimulus bill. While there are many provisions including expanded unemployment guidelines and monies heading for larger entities, part of the package involves payments to individuals and families. The measure is expected to pass the House and be on the President's desk for signing soon thereafter. Here’s a bit of the skinny on what might be coming your way. As details emerge we will share more. Individuals will receive $1200 per adult. $500 per child 16 and under unless their adjusted gross income is over $75,000 single or $150,000 married. Then the payment is reduced until single $99,000 and married $198,000. Anything over that amount will not receive a payment. These will be based on your 2018 return unless you have filed a 2019 return already. There is no need to apply as the payment will be deposited automatically in your account if the IRS has that info. If not checks will be sent out. The payments are likely to arrive in less than 3 weeks according to plan. If you are receiving Social Security or SSI you would still get a payment. Same with Veterans receiving payments and unemployment eligible people. Stay tuned. We will attempt to keep you updated as we receive the info.
