Meijer Project Moves To Next Step; Joint Planning Committee Meets Next Tuesday By Marianne Boerigter The City of Fremont, Dayton Township and Sheridan Charter Township have finalized their terms for changes to their Joint PA 425 agreement this week regarding land west of the city on 48th Street. On October 17, Fremont City Council discussed and made action by a 3-1 vote to agree to a counter-offer by Dayton Township for 4 mills for 20 years. On October 18, Sheridan Township... ...made action by a 4-3 vote to accept the agreement regarding land in their township, setting the parameters for potential future development west and south of the city limits. The two townships and the City of Fremont have been working together as part of a joint commission to support economic development projects as well as planning for future land use requirements. The project spurring the negotiation for amendment of the PA 425 agreement is the potential site of Meijer, Inc. on land fronting 48th Street, at the northwest of the corner of Green and 48th Street in Dayton Township. The Meijer, Inc. project is on the Fremont Community Joint Planning Commission’s agenda for their October 25 meeting. At that meeting, the Meijer site plan and special land use applications will be reviewed. The public meeting is at 7:00 p.m. at Fremont City Hall located at 101 E. Main Street. Meijer’s purchasing the land under review is contingent on all approvals from the City and Townships involved. Comments are closed.
