![]() Library Back In The News By N3 News Team With former Newaygo Library Director Christina Golm a few months removed from the post she left to direct Jamestown’s Patmos Library the controversy that raged during much of her short tenure seems to still be simmering. The library slipped back into the news when it was announced that Georgia Kohlbeck the librarian who was fired by Ms. Golm after being accused of... ...embezzlement would be arraigned in 78th District Court in White Cloud this week.
The charges of three counts of embezzlement by a public official of property valued at $200 or less involve, according to other news sources, a Christmas ornament, an auto repair manual, and some silverware. A core group of local people lobbied heavily for Ms. Golm’s dismissal for several months after the firing of Ms. Kohlbeck, attending each board meeting and filling the public comment time with the majority of people calling for the Director’s removal. The board maintained they were unable to take any action until the decision was made as to whether there would indeed be charges brought forth. Then Ms. Golm submitted her resignation in March. And now, after more than 8 months time, Ms. Kohlbeck is facing arraignment on the charges. The Library Board will be holding their regular meeting on Tuesday June 21st at 4:30pm at in the meeting room of Newaygo’s City Council. Comments are closed.
