![]() Headway, Sheriff's Dept Local Merchants Collaborate On Reducing Youth Sales Of Alcohol, Tobacco Compliance Checks: Newaygo County Results: In an effort to reduce alcohol and tobacco sales to minors, the Newaygo County Sheriff's Office conducted compliance checks at the end of September. The checks ensure that local businesses are doing their part to prevent the sales of alcohol and tobacco to underage purchasers. The businesses and employees who successfully passed the compliance check deserve well-earned congratulations for their diligence in following the requirements of the law and ultimately preventing youth substance use. Undersheriff Wesley Bierling commented “the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Department would like to thank the Headway Coalition for their dedicated work in spearheading this project. Additionally, the Sheriff’s Department thanks each vendor who passed their compliance check.
