Discover Your Community Day on October 28 The series of “Discover Your Community Days” from Fremont Area Community Foundation will continue on October 28. These events are part of the Leadership Series, presented in partnership with the Fremont Area and River Country chambers of commerce. Discover Your Community Days are designed to give current and emerging community leaders a broader base of knowledge of Newaygo County, an opportunity to network, and... ...a better awareness of area resources. The October 28 event will focus on Newaygo County history, natural resources, and outdoor destinations.
During the day-long program, participants will tour the Newaygo County Museum and Heritage Center, Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary, and Hardy and Croton Dam areas. The program also will feature guest speakers on the Woodland Park community, local trails, and Newaygo County’s lakes, rivers, and streams. “This event is a great way to be immersed in our rich local history and beautiful natural resources,” said Carla Roberts, FACF President and CEO. “It’s also an outstanding opportunity to network and meet others who are passionate about making Newaygo County a great place to live.” The next Discover Your Community Day will focus on health care, wellness, and the arts. The first two events in the series concentrated on business, agriculture, education, local government, and human services. In addition to support from local chambers of commerce, the events were developed with input from alumni of the Leadership in Newaygo County (LINC) program. Participants need not have attended previous Discover Your Community Day events to attend. Registration for the October 28 event is free and includes transportation and lunch. Space is limited. For more information and to register, visit facommunityfoundation.org/events or call 231.924.5350. To ensure a diverse group of participants, no more than two persons from any one organization will be able to participate in an individual day. Comments are closed.
