Community Foundation Celebrates Bob Jordan and Introduces New Teams
On December 1, Fremont Area Community Foundation (FACF) hosted a retirement celebration to honor Bob Jordan, vice president of philanthropic services. Jordan is retiring at the end of December after 17 years at the Community Foundation.

“Bob has been a trusted and valued colleague,” said Roberts during her remarks. “He is one of the finest human beings I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting and working with.”
Senator Goeff Hansen was also on hand to present Jordan with a special tribute bearing Hansen’s signature as well as those of Representative Jon Bumstead and Governor Rick Snyder.
Jordan began his career at the Community Foundation in 1999 as a development officer. Prior to this, he served for six years on the Community Foundation board and worked as a trust officer at Huntington Bank. During his tenure at FACF, Jordan shepherded the growth of the Community Foundation’s endowment from $168 million to almost $230 million.
“Bob has advanced the work of the Community Foundation in substantial and lasting ways and we are so grateful for his service and leadership,” said Roberts. “Transitions like this are always bittersweet, but we have been carefully planning for more than a year for Bob’s retirement. We have been able to provide structured pathways for career growth for several employees.”
Jordan’s leadership role in philanthropic services will now be overseen by Todd Jacobs, vice president and chief philanthropy officer. The philanthropic services team is responsible for efforts to engage donors in improving the quality of life in Newaygo County and to assist donors in connecting their personal passions to community needs.
The team includes veteran FACF staff members Wes Miller, senior philanthropy officer; Mark Petz, special projects coordinator; and Robin Cowles, philanthropic services manager. Sarah Dixon has also recently joined the staff as philanthropic services associate.
Jacobs will also oversee the Community Foundation’s grantmaking process and provide leadership for grantee relationships and services and Community Foundation initiatives. Amy Moore, senior program officer, will take a greater leadership role in the oversight of FACF’s grantmaking program and serve as a key staff member on the community investment team.
The community investment team also includes Cowles, Petz, and Vonda Carr, grants manager, along with new staff members Nicole D’Arcy, program officer, and Samantha Ruthven, program associate.
