​​Board Bids Hofmeyer Adieu, Welcomes New Administrator

Christopher Wren is Newaygo County’s new Administrator after signing a three year contract to serve as the supervisor of the county’s day to day operations. The Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the employment agreement with Wren at their regular meeting on Wednesday, April 27th.
With the hiring of Wren Interim Administrator Terry Hofmeyer wrapped up his tenure after six months of stepping into the vacancy created by the departure of  Tobi Lake who presently holds the Administrator position in Lake County.

“It has been a pleasure to work with you,” he said to the commissioners . “And it has been a real joy to work with the staff you have here.”
”I have every confidence Chris will be much better than I ever dreamed to be and now I can get to work on our cottage,” he said referencing the nearby property he and his wife own.
Hofmeyer is the Supervisor of Laketon Township located near Holland.
“You’ve been a calming influence here, having come aboard at a difficult time,” said Commissioner Phil Deur. “On behalf of the board I want to thank you for stepping in like you did.”
Elected officials, department heads and employees gathered after the meeting to welcome Wren and bid goodbye to Hofmeyer while sharing in a cake decorated to commemorate the two events.
