The free event is hosted by Fremont Area Community Foundation in partnership with the Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University. “This is a great event for anyone curious about local nonprofits and what they do,” said Mark Petz, FACF special projects coordinator. “It is also ideal for anyone thinking about serving on a nonprofit board or committee, now or in the future.” “Board service is an outstanding way to get to know the community, meet new people and learn new skills, and even to build your resume and professional experience,” continued Petz. The event will also help local nonprofits expand their pools of volunteers interested in contributing their service, expertise, and leadership.Nonprofit Speed Dating will be held Tuesday, May 16 from 5-7 p.m. at the Stone Lodge in Fremont (4715 Trillium Springs Blvd).
