This Week: Cases, Positivity Up; Deaths, Hospitalizations Down

Newaygo County held onto their spot near the bottom sitting 9th out of ten counties in the DHD#10 jurisdiction when it comes to percentage of people being vaccinated.

Our jurisdiction’s daily cases per million and percent positivity have both increased since last update. There was an increase in cases (+32.4%) when comparing the most recent 7 days (1/5-1/11) to the 7 days previous (12/29-1/4). There was a decrease in deaths (-57.1%) when comparing deaths that occurred in the most recent 7 days to the 7 days previous.  
 
As of today, all of our counties remain in the high transmission level categories. There are currently 3 confirmed Omicron variants in Newaygo County, and 854 confirmed Delta variants in our jurisdiction. As of yesterday, there were 14 COVID-19 inpatients in Munson Cadillac, 7 in Munson Grayling, 4 in Munson Manistee, 9 at Spectrum Health Big Rapids, 6 at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial, and 9 at Spectrum Health Ludington.
