'Girls On The Run' Wraps Up Season With 5K
The Girls on the Run Program proved successful once again at White Cloud Elementary. Under the coaching of Jana Dakin and Stephanie Cruzan, eighteen girls in grades 3-5 participated in practices twice a week. The girls were coached in developing and improving competence, feeling self confidence, developing strength of character, & responding to others with care and compassion.
These were just just a few life skills that the team concentrated on during the season. The Girls on the Run Program is a physical activity-based positive youth development program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. The culminating event was a 5K run, which took place on Friday evening in Fremont.
