Mrs. Lillian “Dot” Oosterhouse, age 96 of Fremont, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Tuesday morning, January 21, 2020. She was born on November 23, 1923 in Armour, South Dakota to Gerrit & Minnie (Schalhaas) Timmermans. Lillian had been a seamstress for Brookhouse Cleaners in Fremont, and she retired from Fremont High School Food Service as the head cook. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, where she had been in the Royal Daughters, sang in the choir, and was a Calvinette Counselor. She was also an avid reader, and enjoyed playing cards, golf, knitting, and sewing. On October 1, 1947 she married Edward Jay Oosterhouse and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Raymond, Albert, Conrad “Bill”, & Marvin Timmermans; and by her sister, Rose Wolfsen. She is survived by 3 children: Jane (Jody Springer) Geers of Mundelein, Illinois, Michael (Marian) Oosterhouse of Fremont, Lynn (Richard) Guider of Grand Rapids; 8 grandchildren: Nathan (Donna) Geers, Leah (Phil) Johnson, Kelly (Ty) Hill, Derek (Michaela) Oosterhouse, Sam Guider, Alex Oosterhouse, Ashley (Zach) Meyers, & Sergei Guider; 10 great grandchildren; & 2 sisters-in-law: Fran Timmermans of Grant, & Lois Timmermans of Grant. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Rev. Drew Sweetman officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 12-1 PM on Saturday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Suggested Memorial: Hospice of Michigan. Mr. Grant C. Parsons, Jr., age 88 of Fremont, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, January 19, 2020. He was born on November 20, 1931 in Fremont, Michigan to Grant C. & Ethel (Graham) Parsons. Grant was a US Army Veteran, and he had been employed at Gerber Products Company for 34 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, and he enjoyed doing lawn work, spending time with his family, and driving his dune buggy. On January 27, 1956 he married Evelyn Poll and she survives him along with 1 daughter, Debra (Duane) Hopkins of Fremont; 1 granddaughter, Maria (Ryan) Bolles; 2 great grandchildren, Skyler & Hunter; 1 sister, Janet (Rich) Deters of Fremont; sisters-in-law: Lyla Parsons of Hastings, Shirley Poll of Croton; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Parsons; and by his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Henry Poll, George Poll, Janet Porter, Marie Hansen, & Chuck Poll. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Drew Sweetman officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Wednesday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
