Grant Seaperch Team Travels To Georgia Tech
The National Seaperch Challenge at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center took place on May 20 and the Grant duo of Luke Wolff and Josh Moore came away from the U.S. Navy sponsored competition eager to use what they learned to improve their model for next year.
“There was a lot of time for the boys to watch other robots running, and check out their designs as well,” said Instructor Mike Maksimchuk who initiated the interest in the project. “They learned a lot at the national competition and it definitely stoked the fire in them to ‘build a better mousetrap’.
“They came home with a lot of ingenious ideas, and ways to approach obstacles for next year. This experience definitely helped open their eyes to the idea that there’s more than one way to solve a problem.”
