Saturday Brings Christmas To The Cloud By N3 Feature Gang Christmas in The Cloud will be the place for family fun during a four hour romp through the downtown area and beyond. Starting at 11am Saturday area merchants and businesses will be providing munchables and/or Christmas activities to folks who will be doing a little strolling through the city. You can gather reindeer food at the Stage Door Players, enjoy a special holiday treat at Frenchie’s, design a Christmas ornament at Independent Bank, and then... ...wander over to the corner of M-37 and Newell where Jim and Judy Maike will once again be offering up their delicious S’mores.
And these are but a few of the activities taking place throughout town. Santa is on the docket to not only be on hand at St. Joseph’s Church for the lunch in his honor but will also be making an appearance at a quartet of other locales in the city for photo ops after his midday meal. St. Joseph’s will be serving their good eats from 11am-3pm. They will also have a kid’s carnival, baked goods sale, and Santa’s Workshop where kids can buy and wrap presents. There’s nothing to get you in a holiday mood like tooling through town in a horse drawn wagon and Bill Van Andel and his equine associates will be on hand to help make that happen. Later in the day the Eagles Auxiliary and the Friends of the White Cloud Community Library will be hosting a lasagna dinner and silent auction at the Eagles Community Room. You can skip the meal-making after a day of Christmas activities and sit down with friend’s neighbors, folks you know and folks you don’t for a little pasta repast from 4-7pm. Their Holiday Silent Auction will begin at 6:15pm giving you an opportunity to cross a few items off your Christmas shopping list while supporting these fine organizations. Christmas in the Cloud is the latest in a series of holiday happenings sprinkled through our area. These celebrations are wonderful ways to promote our cities and the local businesses and institutions that make their home in our towns while providing an opportunity to run into old friends, show some pride in our community, engage in some family friendly fun, and embrace this magical season of goodwill to all. “Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves.” -Eric Sevareid
