Morley Stanwood 44 White Cloud 20 Morley kept their title hopes alive with a convincing win over White Cloud. Coach Wilk: “Tonight we didn't have the aggression needed to beat a well rounded Morley Stanwood team. Defensively we did a good job tonight, but our lack of rebounding was a major factor in our loss. The Cloud hung with the ‘Hawks trailing by just 3 after one but the offensive woes kicked in once again for the visitors who managed just 9 points the remainder of the game. Andi Vincent once again led WC with 13 and Payten Bird finished with 5. Morley Stanwood 75 White Cloud 61 WC’s offense continues to show more spark but in this one the defense could not contain the hosts who put up their highest point total of the season. Trailing by 3 after the first quarter the Cloud fought back to tie the game but a late run by the “Hawks gave them a 38-27 lead at the break. Morley added to their lead in the 3rd and despite making a couple of runs, WC fell short in the White Division contest. Coach Jones: “If you told me we would score 62 pts , I would have told you it was going to be a close game at the end. Our defense has been lacking as of late and you’re not going to win many games not playing defense. “ Jayden Robinson knocked down 31 points to lead the Cloud offense with Brady Strait dropping 15 Coleson Cruzan hitting for 7 and David Higgs finishing with 5
