Strait scores 20 for Cloud; Bayle notches 10 kills in Panther win
White Cloud 3 Holton 0 Coach Strait: Wednesday night, the Lady Indians hosted Holton. After a couple of rough weeks, they came out ready to redeem themselves. They had a successful night winning 3-0, with scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-15. Leading scorers were Alexis Strait with 20 points and 4 aces, followed by Cassie Watson with 10 points and 1 ace. Strait dished out 22 assists to aid in Olivia Bowman’s 10 kills and Abby Derks 7. Our back row was led by Strait, Boman, Carsyn Scarlavai, and Emily Feldpausch. White Cloud will host Newaygo Lions Thursday night for Parent’s night. Hesperia 3 Lakeview 0 Coach Grimard: Panthers defeated Lakeview Wednesday on the road with the scores 25-13, 25-16, 26-24. The Panther offense was led by Emily Bayle with 10 kills, Isabelle Rumsey and Rachel Romero had 8 and 7 kills respectively. Bayle and Kyra Sayer each had 3 aces and Rumsey had 2 aces at the serving line. Sayer led the team with 18 assists. Defensively, Bayle had 8 digs, Aria Thomas and Adriana Escobedo had 5 and 4 digs respectively. Romero had a single solo block. The Panthers are 7-1 in league and 27-8-1 overall this season! The Panthers will host the Kent City Eagles next Wednesday, October 23rd. On October 26th, they will host the 8th Annual Lori Vargas Volley Against Violence Tournament. All proceeds of the event will be given to WiSE of Newaygo, Mecosta, and Osceola Counties for domestic and dating violence awareness education and support of families in crisis.
