After a competitive first quarter that had the Packers in the lead 12-9, the Orioles’ pressure defense got to the Packers. Fremont turned it over 30 times in the game, and only tallied 8 second half points. Calla Miller finished with 9 points, with Paige Vandenberg scoring 7 and pulling down 7 boards. The loss drops the Packers to 2-3 overall, and 1-0 in the conference. They play at home on Friday against Big Rapids. Boys Fremont 71 Montague 48 Coach Zerfas: “After an emotional and hard fought win Monday against Ludington we came out a little flat on the road against Montague. We did win every quarter, but Montague played hard and it was a hard fought win.” The Packers edged out to a 17-15 lead after one and pushed their advantage to 6 points at the break. The second half saw them shake loose from the Wildcats building a 57-39 lead at the end of 3 and running away in the final frame.
