Grant 75 Shelby 34 Grant took their undefeated record to Shelby for a Tiger v.Tiger matchup and picked up where they left off prior to the holiday break extending their record to 6-0. The Tigers took control early running off the first 8 points and held the host Tigers to just 13 points in the first half.Head Coach Dan George pulled his starters early and the entire roster got minutes, with 11 of the 13 scoring points. "I was most pleased with our defense tonight," said Coach George. "Coach Rider has done an excellent job teaching and leading in that area." Zaiden Phillips led Grant knocking down 21 points while Sincere Hatch hit for 18, and Ethan DeLong finishing with 11, but Coach George stressed the importance of other contributors in other areas, notably Blake Rider's leadership at the point, Aiden Booth's defense and hustle, and Owen Chesebro's spark off the bench. "These guys are very unselfish," added Coach George. “They have bigger goals. We strive to get better than we were yesterday and I think we did that tonight." Grant (2-0, 6-0) will host another WMC team when the Hart Pirates come to town on Tuesday.
