4 Vikes, 3 Lions and a Tiger make first team
Fremont Soccer ran through conference play undefeated lost only one game all season and topped it all off with a conference tournament title. When they faced the Orioles in the opener of the state tourney they were coming off an 8 game unbeaten streak that included a tight 1-0 win over their first round opponent the Orioles of Ludington. This time they played in Oriole territory and the Packers had a long bus ride home after being bested 5-1 by their hosts. The season is over for the Pack but postseason honors are still being passed out and 5 Fremont players landed on the first team along with one player given honorable mention. Four Tri County players, three from Newaygo, and one from Grant are named to the first team and each team had an honorable mention player. Tri County remains in the D3 tournament with a match against Ravenna Tuesday while Newaygo and Grant lost their openers.
