The visitors from Fremont took a 19-5 lead after one and blitzed the Wildcats in the second with an 18-2 run to arrive at halftime up 37-8. The second half saw the Packers  continue to dominate and in the 4th quarter  a running clock made a late appearance in the romp.
Coach Zerfas: “ We were able to survive a cold shooting night with relentless defense and great rebounding.  We shot 5-30 from beyond the arc and only 25% overall, but we had 25 offensive rebounds and forced Montague into 30 turnovers.”
Mia Clemence and Taylor DeKuiper continued their stellar seasons with Clemence knocking down 20 points while taking down 13 boards and adding 7 steals. DeKuiper continues to put up impressive numbers off the glass from her point guard position tallying 17 to go with her 18 points and 7 steals. Grace Evans canned 8 points while Khalia Noordyk and Taylor Johnson each hit for 5 and Riley Chase and Anna Norris adding 4 apiece.
Fremont (7-0, 12-2) has a Saturday contest with Grant in the Newaygo County Showcase before a rematch with the Orioles of Ludington in what looms as a title showdown on Tuesday, the Packers first home game in nearly 3 weeks.

The Packer boys made it a season sweep over the Wildcats as they came out strong and continued to build their lead reaching intermission with a decisive 38-19 advantage. The second half proved more of the same and by the time the teams reached the final frame the Packers were in charge 55-19.
Redick Powell led a well balanced offensive attack with 14 points to go with his 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.Mossen Green had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists.  Gabe Hulst had 9 points, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Brayden Crosely had 3 points, 7 steals, 5 assists and 3 rebounds.  Logan McLain pulled down 10 boards with 7 blocks, Carter Sherman had 8 rebounds and Breckin Kooistra 6 rebounds.   Blake Zerlaut chipped in 7 points for the Packers.
