Five members of the Fremont Packer Soccer Team were named to the West Michigan Conference All Conference Teams. We contacted Coach Steve Vissia to share a few words on these players. Mia Clemence - sophomore, forward, 29 goals, 13 assists. She had 8 game-winning goals on the year, scored in all but 2 matches, had a goal streak of 15 consecutive games, team co-captain, great leader who plays big in big games. Maddie Mater - freshman, 9 goals, 4 assists, center midfielder. She has vision like few others I've ever coached. She sees things happen before they happen. She may be small in size but not in heart. She has a desire to be successful that fuels her. Julianne Hernandez - senior, defender, team co-captain. She signed to play at Muskegon Community College last week and will be playing for them in the fall. She is tenacious when marking an opponent and her speed has bailed us out of bad situations all year long. She is a servant leader who places others before herself. Grace Evans - freshman, center back defender. She started to really understand the position about halfway through the season and it made us a different team. She is smart and cuts off angles well. She became more and more confident as the year progressed and was a major part of our team only allowing 24 goals on the season. Hailey Snyder - freshman, goalkeeper. 17 goals allowed, 79 saves, 1.283 goals against average, and 82.29 save percentage. She has great hands and absorbs the ball well. She is good in the air and can anticipate where the shot is going. One of her better qualities is that she learns from her mistakes and gets better and better as a result.
