On a rainy Friday afternoon the Packers made the trip over to Grant to play the Tigers in girls' soccer. Fremont got out to an early lead when Mia Clemence found Trinity Freriks for the goal. That score stood until the half. 12 minutes into the second half Grant knotted the game up when Carli Fryling struck a ball from 25 out. 10 minutes later Riley Chase put the visitors back on top. However, Grant's Fryling struck again just 2 minutes later launching a shot that found the top of the Packer net.. Both teams had opportunities and Fremont's Chase finally put the game-winning goal away with 10 minutes to play. Tiger Coach Gomez de Leon: “ We knew we were going into a tough game. Playing Fremont is always a challenge but we felt prepared. Unfortunately, we had some mistakes that Fremont capitalized on. It was a close game with both teams fighting for possession but unfortunately we ran out of time.” Grant outshot Fremont 14-10. Fremont's Macey Powers made 12 saves in net and Rachael Robinson collected 7 saves for the Tigers. Fremont (4-32-1) will host Kent City (1-2, 0-2) on Monday while Grant (2-2, 1-1) welcomes in Tri County (3-1, 2-0) also on Monday.
