The Lions roared to their 7th straight win Tuesday with a decisive win over a Morley squad who entered the game with but one loss on their record.
Jaylee Long led the Lions with 21 points and 9 rebounds  including draining 8-9 from the charity stripe while Jaxi Long hit for  11 points. Emmerson Goodin continues her excellent work in the paint grabbing 8 rebounds to go with her 8 points.
Newaygo was up 29-17 at the half and was able to maintain the lead.  Morley Stanwood cut it to four points on a couple of occasions but the Lions responded well and held off the MS runs.
Coach Thomasma:"Good win tonight.  The girls competed against a physical Morley Stanwood team and held their own.  Happy with the effort and execution that we showed. We played great team basketball tonight."
Newaygo (6-3,11-4) will host conference co-leader Big Rapids on Friday.
