A pair of local volleyballers with some serious credentials were honored by being named to All State teams in their respective divisions this week.
Olivia Keelean capped off a three year varsity career as a Grant Tiger with a spot on the Division 2 2nd team. Ms. Keelean was the team captain for the Tigers this season and gathered all conference, all area dream team and all region honors on her way to being named all state. She ended the season with 449 kills, 406 dig, and 40 service aces to her credit. With graduation looming this spring Keelean plans to bring her game to Cornerstone University next fall where she will pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy while hopefully taking to the court for the Golden Eagles. Alexis Strait has a bit of time to think about her post high school plans. The 5’5”sophomore setter piled up 683 assists, 196 kills, 105 aces, and 458 digs this season helping the White Cloud team to second place in the Silver and a spot in the district finals. For her efforts she landed a spot on the Division 3 3rd team. Coach Desirae Strait: “The dedication Alexis has to improving herself shows in her offseason commitment. Her personal goal is to do everything she can to make her players and team feel successful.” Ms. Strait also gathered all conference and all region honors enroute to the all state team.
