Cloud blows by the field in discus, shot put White Cloud T&F excelled at the Lakeview Invitational Friday as the Boys team earned the top spot while the Girls team finished a strong third. The Indians dominated the field events capturing the top three spots in discus (Joel Bradley, Jace Silverthorn and Nikolas Parks-Josephson) and shot put ( Bradley, Silverthorn and Lloyd Seabright-Johnson), the top two in the pole vault (Hunter Ciolk 11’6’’ and Nathan Ciolk 9’6”) and Dexter Cox captured first in the high jump reaching a personal record 5’10”. The Cloud runners also made their mark in the meet. The relay team of Nathan Ciolk, Terry Trendel, Kobe Canning and Tristan McHaney took the 4x800 by more than 10 seconds (8:58.84) and Nikolas Parks-Josephson, Trendel, Canning and McHaney (3:52.63) bested the competition in the 4x400. McHaney also captured the top spot in the 800m run (2:11.2) and came in 2nd in the 1600m. Nathan Ciolk took 2nd in the 3200m, while Parks-Josephson was second in the 300m hurdles and 3rd in the long jump. On the Girls side Janessa Shepherd continues her stellar senior season taking first in the shot put with a 34’5” toss outdoing her closest competition by nearly 5 feet. Meanwhile discus dynamo Gaby Reeve launched one from the circle that landed nearly 15 feet past the second place hurl for a personal record 107’7” and first place. Carsyn Scarlavai pole vaulted to the top of the heap clearing the bar at 7’6”. Jaden Gomez (13’6.75 was second in the long jump. The teams will travel to Morley Stanwood Wednesday for a conference meet.
