By Ken DeLaat Boys Newaygo at Chippewa Hill 8 times this season the Warriors failed to score more than 25 points including the 17 they managed against the Lions a couple weeks ago. I don’t see anything to indicate they will break their 17 game losing streak in this one. Fremont at Reed City The Coyotes get back on the court with a chance to avenge an earlier loss to Fremont on the Packer home court. There is a slim (very slim) chance the Pack could share the title if Tri County finds a way to upset BR but they have to win this one against a good team in the toughest venue in the conference. They had the ‘Yotes number the first time and the matchups will likely be the same. We’re hoping the result will be as well. Grant at Central Montcalm The enigmatic Tigers scored exactly half the points (46) in their last outing as they scored in their previous outing (92). It doesn't seem likely they will struggle to score in Stanton but getting a couple of hot hands early certainly wouldn’t hurt. Holton at Hesperia The Red Devils haven’t lost a conference game to any team not named Kent City. Nothing here to indicate that will change. White Cloud at Kent City Coach Jones’ team will give it all they've got, but they are playing the leagues best on the road. The Eagles lost a non-con game to Montabella this week but they haven’t lost 2 in a row all season and that is not likely to change here. Girls Newaygo at Chippewa Hills The Lions will head to Districts on a winning note and this one should give their bench some minutes to prepare for the tourney. Fremont at Reed City The Packers scored a season high 65 points their last time out. Cellar dwelling Chip Hills also scored their season high (60) in that game A bit more defense and the continued emergence of Noordyk as one of the primary scoring threats will help here and the Packers can head to District play in Comstock Park with their first 2 game win streak. Grant at Central Montcalm Should the Tigers regain the offense that has been missing this past week they should be able to finish the regular season on a high note. They will need that momentum as they will be facing one of the region’s top teams when they meet up with Sparta next Wednesday. Holton at Hesperia Part of a 2 game series between long time rival schools. The first is the regular season finale and the second is the District opener. The Devs are young and can be prone to inconsistency at times but nothing points to anything but a sweep here. White Cloud at Kent City The Cloud has improved a good deal this season. Not enough to hope for an upset against an Eagle team priming for a lengthy playoff run, but improved nonetheless.
