Newaygo(2-1) at Reed City (3-0) A rivalry forged during their first two game series in 2012 (they did the same in 2014) has continued and while RC has taken 6 of 8 since this one is always a tossup. Playing in Coyote Country is never easy but the Lions are eager to get back on the field after missing the classic annual battle with Grant and need this to have a shot at the conference crown because it’s doubtful the 'Yotes will lose many more games going forward. Fremont (0-3) at Chippewa Hills (0-3) Despite their record the Packers have improved each week and are facing a Warrior team that is also 0-3 thus far. Chip Hills can score and has kept close in their three losses. Since joining the CSAA the Pack has lost each of their 4 games against CH and chances are the hosts will be looking to get off the schneid with a win over a team they have handled easily in the recent past. We have a hunch they may be in for a few surprises Friday Grant (1-1) at Big Rapids (1-2) It’s been 3 weeks since the Tiger opening game when they handed Tri County their only loss a 7-6 defensive battle. Now they need to shake off the rust and hopefully find a little more offense, Orion Evans can be a punishing runner and Brenden Keelean should get some opportunities to air it out a bit. The Cards beat Chip Hills last week but teams possessing a strong defense have bottled them up. Grant has a strong defense. White Cloud (1-2) at Kent City (3-0) The Eagle offense took wing last week after a pair of passable performances and will likely put points on the board. It’s hard to say how the Cloud will fare here. They won last week without taking the field so there;’s been a layoff which could help a little, but they are going to have to be ready to forestall any quick start by KC because if they fall behind early it could be a long night given the Eagles ability to run away from opponents Holton (2--1) at Hesperia (1-2) The Devils showed some mettle against the undefeated Eagles last week but they need to improve their red zone play. The defense is better than the 30 KC hung on them the Austins (QB Fowler and RB Hawkins) give the offense some pop but the Panther defense is a rugged group who won’t yield ground easily and Holton will have to find a way to contain Mack Baird who seems to be all over the field.
