Defense ruled the third with neither team crossing the goal line and it was well into the final period when Mansfield found Gabe Van Vleet from 5 yards out to make it 20-12 after a failed 2 point conversion. Mansfield led the Pack in rushing as he piled up 171 yards and tossed for 26 more. Elijah Shears caught 2 of those passes for 14 yards. On defense Van Vleet and Michael Romero led the teai tackles while Gabe DeLong tallied a pair of tackles for loss. The Pack (0-3) will look to get on track Friday when they face Chippewa Hills (0-3) while the Vikes (2-1) will visit the CM Hornets (2-1) Morley Stanwood 28 Hesperia 12 After falling behind 14-0 i the first half the Panthers closed the gap by scoring twice to pull within 14-12 midway through the quarter thanks to a Mack Baird pick 6 which he followed up with a 56 yard punt return for pay dirt.The Mohawk offense kicked in again scoring twice to pull away and capture the win. Baird finished with 79 yards on the ground and another 43 on catches from Johnny Majersky. On defense River Roberson led with 10 tackles and Kile Pomeroy finished with 8. Hesperia now falls to 1-2 overall and will host Holton (2-1) in their rivalry game. It will be homecoming for the Panthers Kent City 30 Holton 12 In a hard played physical game the Devs struggled to get some early traction but it was their missed red zone opportunities that led to the loss. Late in the game Holton had a shot at pulling within a score of the Eagles but a missed field goal gave KC the ball and they drove down the field for the final TD.
