White Cloud Boys finish first. Packer split squad takes 4th
Coach Atwood: The White Cloud cross country team competed at the Ludington Invitational on Saturday, September 14. The boys brought home the first place trophy, beating Fremont, Ludington, Frankfort, Pentwater, Holton, and Manistee. Coleson Cruzan finished first, besting his time from last week, with a 17:42. Kaleb Canning was close behind, with a finish time of 17:58 to finish second. Wyatt Karnes was 9th with a time of 19:31 followed by Joey Coon in 11th place. Rounding out the top five were Angleo Hinson in 16th place. Avery Bowman was 21st, as our sixth runner, breaking the tie we had with Ludington. Zeke Hensley was 33rd, taking a minute and 39 seconds off his time from last week. In the girls race, Mikayla Goebel finished 13th with a time of 24:18. Charlotte Karnes ran 32:58 for 35th place. Setting personal best times wereCanning ,Hensley, andGoebel. Running their best times for this season were Bowman,Cruzan, and, Karnes.Medalists were Cruzan,Canning,Karnes,Coon,Hinson,Bowman, and Goebel. Coach Somers: The Packer split squad ran today in the Ludington invitational. This is a true cross country course with lots of ups and downs. Today’s athletes had a strong showing in their races. The boys ran first led by Mossen Green (So) in 8th place. Andy Krapp (So) ran a solid race almost 2 minutes faster than he was last year coming through next in 15th.. Max Taylor (Fr) ran close to his PR to finish 18th followed by Brandon Rasmussen (Sr) in 19th who also ran close to his PR. Another athlete who was close to his PR was Jacob Christoffersen (Fr) running a strong race in 25th. Ethan Campbell (Fr) continues to develop as shown by his strong PR today placing 37th. The boys placed fourth as a team with 85 points. Joelle Patten (Jr) led the way in the girl's race placing 7th. Ava Krohn (Jr) continues to develop as she ran a strong PR finishing 22nd. Jessie Kendziorski (So) had a solid first race back from injury finishing 25th. Maddi Dunbar (So), and Alayna Bukala (So) continue to progress, running their first run in the hills, finishing 32nd and 33rd. Our next meet is Tuesday at home at Brannstrom Park.
